I have a version that does this though it's requires a platform that supports 
SO_TIMESTAMP and realtime scheduling.   It also requires synching the clocks on 
the client and server.  I do the clock synching using PTP and to get 
microsecond precision run a PTP grandmaster from a spectracom tsync gps 
disciplined oscillator.   PTP and a PC oscillator will likely be good enough 
for most.

I plan to commit into sourceforge (under iper2) soon.
