hello guys,
I have a weird problem with my freebsd gateway at home, I looked through the group and
the faq and I
could not find help.

a quick explanation:
I formatted around 3 months ago my home server from win2k to linux redhat 7.3 : no
glitch.
I have 2 nics on this machine one 192.168.10.2 one 192.168.10.20: I setted up one to
take care of my
intranet use ( even samba for win ) and the other to host ftp and some other stuff for
friends.
Well the thing is since the change I found very often messages like these in my
freebsd firewall
logs:

Dec 1 23:11:14 firewall /kernel: arp: 192.168.10.2 moved from X:X:X:X to X:X:X:X on
xl0
Dec 1 23:35:03 firewall /kernel: arp: 192.168.10.20 moved from X:X:X:X to X:X:X:X on
xl0
Dec 1 23:35:03 firewall /kernel: arp: 192.168.10.20 moved from X:X:X:X to X:X:X:X on
xl0

after I added the rdr line in the ipnat.conf file:

rdr rl0 PUBLIC ADDRESS port 21 -> 192.168.10.20 port 21        # FTP

Actually nothing is wrong with the fw itself and everything works fine, just it is
quite weird and
maybe some of you have seen this before.

my machine:
FreeBSD 4.7 Stable
ipf -V
ipf: IP Filter: v3.4.29 (336)
Kernel: IP Filter: v3.4.29
Running: yes
Log Flags: 0 = none set
Default: block all, Logging: available
Active list: 0

thank you in advance and keep going with the great job!

PS: ...just a guess can this be related with the promiscous mode in which seems my
linux nics are
running?
