userauth.c sunos 5.7

Does the userland auth stuff work with ipf on SunOS?  I have my program 
working on FreeBSD but I need to port it to SunOS 5.7 if possible.  The 
error I'm getting is:

errno=9
frauth-SIOCAUTHW: Bad file number
Anyone know how I can correct this?
