If you have access to 2 PC's then you could setup Linux on one and Solaris
on the other.  For the PPPoE server, install Roaring Penguin PPPoE
on the Linux box.  Roaring Penguin has a PPPoE server.

Sorry to hear that the temporary move to Beijing has been restrictive
to your continuing support for IPFilter.  If it's any consolation,
you could always hop a 3 hour flight to Hong Kong.  I've got beer
and pizza (or Dim Sum and tea) with your name all over it.
