folks, recently brought up solaris 10 x86 on a sun v20z (nice box btw). the OEM ipf is as follows... # head -1 /etc/release Solaris 10 3/05 s10_74L2a X86 # uname -a SunOS neo 5.10 Generic_118844-08 i86pc i386 i86pc # ipf -V ipf: IP Filter: v4.0.2 (592) Kernel: IP Filter: v4.0.2 the question i have is relatively simple. should i assume that since sun is shipping and supporting ipf 4.0.2, that it is in fact unneccessary to pursue a "manual" upgrade, and that ipf 4.0.2 is production grade, i.e. unbustable? thanks jim
