>From a previous Darren post, pfil is not needed on S10U4, at least (maybe other versions too, I'm not clear about that). On my S10U4 x86 box, I only built IPF 4.1.27, then installed it using the SunOS5/replace script. It updates the binaries and keeps the SMF service. It worked fine for me.
