Hello everyone. I installed IPFilter 4.1.27 on S10u4, because I use
that machine as a NAT router, and the IPFilter that comes with Solaris
10 doesn't NAT properly. After upgrading, everything works smoothly.
Now I tried to rate limit (or shape, or whatever you want to call it)
some traffic, for which I tried to use ipqos. The problem is that
ipqos doesn't match any packets on the sppp0 interface (an ADSL PPPoE
connection).
Does IPQoS work on the ppp interface? I ask here because the only
changes I made to the networking stuff of that S10u4 machine was
installing IPFilter 4.1.27 with SunOS5/replace -f. I don't know, I
don't think IPFilter has anything to do with this (because ipqos seems
to work on the nge0 interface). But I don't know where else to ask.
Ah, you asked on one of the opensolaris lists but nobody answered?
I'll send a reply to that email and see if I can prod some people into
thinking
about sppp/ppp (nobody is really very keen to admit it is there and/or that
people use it and thus do anything about supporting it.)
