Hello all,
Possibly an off-topic to the thread's subject on my behalf,
however the current (2009-06-22) IPFilter CVS snaphot tree
compiles, but does not load, under Solaris 10u6 (x86_64):
Jun 22 16:08:18 newgw ipf: [ID 257644 kern.info] IP Filter: v5.0.6 detached.
Jun 22 16:08:27 newgw genunix: [ID 819705 kern.notice]
/usr/kernel/drv/amd64/ipf: undefined symbol
Jun 22 16:08:27 newgw genunix: [ID 826211 kern.notice] 'ipf_expiretokens'
Jun 22 16:08:27 newgw genunix: [ID 472681 kern.notice] WARNING:
mod_load: cannot load module 'ipf'
Jun 22 16:08:44 newgw genunix: [ID 819705 kern.notice]
/usr/kernel/drv/amd64/ipf: undefined symbol
Jun 22 16:08:44 newgw genunix: [ID 826211 kern.notice] 'ipf_expiretokens'
Jun 22 16:08:44 newgw genunix: [ID 472681 kern.notice] WARNING:

The IPFilter CVS snapshot from 2009-05-02 works.

Yes, it is working. I did a cvs update and then recompiled and now ipf is
running.
Thank you very much :)!

No... I get the same error:
Jun 20 21:11:45 bettina unix: [ID 826211 kern.notice] 'hook_alloc'
Jun 20 21:11:45 bettina unix: [ID 819705 kern.notice]
/usr/kernel/drv/sparcv9/ipf: undefined symbol
Jun 20 21:11:45 bettina unix: [ID 826211 kern.notice] 'net_release'
Jun 20 21:11:45 bettina unix: [ID 472681 kern.notice] WARNING: mod_load:
cannot load module 'ipf'
but I see what the other problem is. There is no /kernel/misc/neti in
Solaris U7, and when I use nm to dump the symbol in
/kernel/misc/sparcv9/neti, I don't see hook_alloc or net_release? And I
don't have any pre Solaris U7 box to compare with. I have only tested on
kernel 139555-08 and 141414-01.
I don't know why it was working for me, the hook-alloc thing,
but the Makefile was broken. If you do a cvs update, it will be fixed.
