More than you can possibly keep track of. 11 pages of 16 per page plus four on the bottom = 180. Plus each of those can be a folder, which can hold 12 max I think, for 2160.
In fact, if you don't have space your iPhone will still install apps but you will have to use the search function to find them. Storage capacity will be an issue if you have navigation or game apps - offline nav apps tend to be gigabyte+ each, games are often a few hundred MB.
