That may make it sound better. My first thought on hearing this is that it sounded like the police were helping the investigators sound like police. I've read enough stories about police stepping over the line without knowing where the line was that having police present to ensure proper behavior doesn't give me confidence. I'm going to reserve judgement till the full story comes out.
