The Sendero application for note takers is a full featured program that allows you to create and record routes, as well as giving you feedback about where you are, nearby points of interest, etc. One of the utilities is called "Look Around". This is the utility that lets you know where you are and what's around you. The Sendero app for the iPhone gives you only the Look Around utility. There is no single app that will give you all of the functionality of sendero for the iPhone. You can use an app like Navigon or Tom Tom along with Sendero look Around to give you a similar experience, but it won't be as seamless and automatic as Sendero for note takers.
