Ms. Wilson: It is trickier than it should be.
Click on Apps in the sidebar list. Then, look in the lower righthand part of the window, and you will see the words "Check for Updates" and an arrow. Click on the arrow, and you will be brought to an updates page. Clumsy and hidden; not very "Apple-like."
