Well, apple is again dominant with recent announces made at the trade show
whose name I forget.
There are some additions/changes I would specifically want, or which I think
others might want.
1. We need a way to have, or not have speech when answering the phone.
Having the option of speech would allow proper access to features available
to our sighted counterparts (I'll explain if this seems vague.)
On my phone, I can do nothing after I answer the phone since nothing talks
and therefore the only way to regain speech would seem simple to me; how
about an option to shake the phone?
2. We've already seen an example of the inability to turn off
portrait/landscape orientation. Though the feature does indeed show up
under settings, general near the bottom of the screen, it states that this
is an IPad feature. So, either have the new OS exclude this altogether, or
more desirable, allow this feature to available for the phone as well.
3. I would like an option to allow for a touch and release to envoke
virtual keypad strokes in addition to the split or double tap. Moving
around the keypad to locate the appropriate letter should not be affected.
When I find the letter I need, I'd like to just lift my finger to have it
entered.
Hope this wasn't too convoluted; thoughts/feedback obviously appreciated.
Doug: hope I'm not rowing upstream!
