I did not find a way in iPhoto but you can easily do this in the Photos app: - Go to album (or event, or photo stream) - tap the share button at top right - select photos - tap "Save" - "Save to New Album" (or existing) - That's it
After you change back to iPhoto and the tedious "Updating Photo Library", the album is accesible.
