I know there is a hue and cry over Apple's new maps in iOS. I'm loving flyover, 3D, and the look and feel of the maps overall. But it is true that there are serious flaws. The blogs are replete with examples. I was hoping they'd be rare, but in my first minute of using maps, I had tapped on the address of my folks via contacts. Apple Maps got the right street, but a mile or two south, wrong town, wrong zip. When I manually located their house and dropped a pin, the pin had the correct address, town, zip. I then used the Maps search field and entered the correct address, but Maps brought me to the incorrect location: correct street, wrong town, wrong zip.
The examples floating around the web show even more egregious errors. Google Maps is not perfect, either, but I'm hoping In the case of Apple Maps that the fixes come quickly. I love the new features and the look, but maps needs to be functional and reliable more than anything. -K Sent from my iPad with Retina Display http://www.kevincallahan.org
