Anytime I had <a href="#"....> with the actual action coded in the onclick
or onmousedown, the address bar showed up.  Very annoying.  I found that
replacing the # with "Javascript:void();" did the trick.  I guess the # goes
looking for a page but the javascript:void(); looks for JS that's already
been downloaded?  Whatever the reason, I got rid of 80% of my address bar
visits.
