It appears whenever you go into a text field. Different keyboards come up depending on what the field has for a name. I'm not sure of what those names are, or if there's a list somewhere. Ie.if the name of the field has 'phone' in it, I believe a number keyboard pops up etc.. Others have posted here about that. Try going to the google group page and search for keyboard.
