Thanks for the response, Randy. I understand the rationale, insofar as the normal uses of focus() would frequently work poorly in an environment where focusing on a control brings up an additional interface element that occludes half the viewport. What I'm looking for however, is a way to intentionally invoke the keyboard or select-roller interface element on a page specifically designed for it. Has anyone had any luck in getting that to work?
