Would agree that "Mobile Safari" seems to be the unofficial name. Even though it is not 100% correct in its description, it appears to be the most commonly used title in conversations here. Personally it depends on the subject matter of the conversation and the person I am talking to. But for most people I am talking with using "Mobile Safari" creates a clear understanding while not having to drill into the details (unless of course the details are what the conversation is about). So I guess I just answered my own question as to when I use it - with some brief reflection it would seem I use it when I need to quickly reference the browser platform in conversation. When we have more detailed conversations we typically say "Safari on the iPhone".
Safari Lite btw immediately brings up a "dumbed down" version of a product - too many years in large corporate OEM product management. I bet though if we asked the product managers they would much prefer just Safari - but that is a whole different conversation. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of rich_wagner Sent: Friday, September 07, 2007 11:29 AM To: iPhoneWebDev Subject: Re: Terminology question - Safari's official name? I don't love the term, but looking around across the web, "Mobile Safari" seems to be the unofficial name that is used more often than not.
