Great discussion guys. Opens up a lot of thoughts on why this is
going on.

Frustrations will be there when a company is pushed by profits... and
Andrew points out in the last sentence of his comments, "the
Steve" [but also his stock holders] loves profits.

This has got to be his focus (he has no choice), or any rapidly
growing company like Apple.

Bottom line: what is the competition doing now that Apple has raised
the bar... in some cases trying to match it, but in EVERY case
attempting to best it. They have to. And in response, now that Apple
is playing with a different brand of 'big boys" (the cell phone
market), they are going to have to reconsider on some aspects of the
iPhone's original construction(software)... but the REALLY COOL
THING! And where you, the awesome iPhoneDev Team/ all iPhone
developers come in, is that the entire platform is software based.

So roll with it. cause, ahem... you don't have a choice... Apple is a
company who's bottom line is profits, thankfully they do this with
Style.
