I'm curious if anyone here might like to offer feedback on a "beta
launch" of our My-Cast weather for the iPhone.

http://iphone.my-cast.com

This beta test is intended to be a very simple, friendly interface
into U.S. ZIP Code based weather. We want to take advantage of the
iPhone's unique interface and graphical abilities, and I'm interested
in hearing what folks think!

It's not perfect. It's a beginning. We're anxious to use Apple's
forthcoming SDK. There are shortcomings in the animation scripts
available, and the iPhone just gets a little sluggish when it's
"sliding" a complex page.

The forecast chart is done using canvas, so it's very lightweight. We
look forward to providing a lot more detail in things like the temp
line. My hope is to be able to easily answer questions like: "will it
be warmer or colder?" and "is it warmer or colder than usual?" I think
the usual vertical, numbers-only presentation that appears in most
iPhone weather "apps" doesn't give any sense of the "relativity" of
weather.

As many here know, the iPhone will only accept an animated image of a
certain size - too small for my tastes - so we're using a much bigger
image and scripting the animation. Imperfect, but we really want to
find a way to use the high res screen, scrolling, zooming... all the
fun image stuff the iPhone brings.

We have a very short survey available at
http://www.surveyconsole.com/console/TakeSurvey?id=293698,
or you can leave feedback right from the iPhone (from the ZIP Code
screen). Or I have temporarily set up [EMAIL PROTECTED];
you can email me there.

The beta is also noted on

Thanks! :)
