The idea of a prize/competition is always appealing.

But what if the prize money was donated by everybody in a "donate what you
like" fashion, such that we all put up the prize money and we all get to
judge the entries.

Let's say I donate $20 (call me cheap but I'm going for scale here) and
someone else donates $15 etc... If there are 100 people willing to give $10
each per each round then that's $1,000 per round, and we can keep doing it.

Don't mean to take away from or derail what Lee has proposed, which I think
is a wonderful idea. I only mean to highlight the benefits of collective
karma for future consideration.
