native apps are developed only on a mac using the SDK and will be distributed using the apple appstore. since the beta SDK is downloaded as a .dmg file, you will most likely need a mac to view the enclosed docs. you need to be an approved SDK member to get software onto an un- jailbroken iPhone but can otherwise test in an emulator. an iPhone with firmware < 2.0 will need to be upgraded if you want to install apps.
