This is not possible. Videos called by using the embed tag and direct href links to video files will both open up Apple's video player.
Also, be wary of adding more than one or two embed tags on a page. It may be fixed in the latest firmware but I ran into the issue of Safari crashing when I had 3 or more embed tags on a page.
