Can't follow this. Quote properly, please.

Why would you need a different style sheet? And how would you go
about injecting it without resorting to browser sniffing?

That is sensible for any site. Some people are still on dial-up.
Significant percentages of them in some countries.

Sounded more offensive to me. No worries though.

You got a couple of bad answers. And threads are "closed" when they
stop receiving posts. You should be glad you got an additional answer
(and there was nothing uncivil about.) Perhaps it was an unwelcome
epiphany for you that the "kind" answers were wrong.

Nothing mocking about it. You are just overly defensive.

That son of a bitch! But seriously, he asked you some follow-up
questions and told you to stop and think (always sage advice.) You
ignored the questions and proceeded to recite lists of major Websites
that use browser sniffing and other poor practices. How does that
help anything but your self image?

Sons of bitches.

Thank you.

Commonality is not a good indicator.

It is in your best interest to pay attention to those who know
better. Would you rather have "kind" answers that are wrong or direct
answers that are right?

Okay. Which technique are we talking about? In a nutshell:

1. Do not use browser sniffing (client or server, with the latter
being a particularly incompetent choice.)

2. Do not maintain multiple sites for the same content.

3. Do not listen to anyone who tells you otherwise, even (or
especially) if they work for Google, Amazon, etc.
