This is off-topic. I'll give my two cents once on the matter, as I develop for both iPhone and Android. iPhone has a steep learning curve, and limits what you can do. Android is easier for the Java programmer, and is open. However, there is a smaller pool of users right now (that should change over 2009), and there is no history yet of making money by selling apps on the Android Market. The free-apps only should be changing real soon.
