I've made this in hopes that it will be added to iUI in the next release that will allow users to make use of their own toggle buttons for what ever they need it for. I made this because I had an issue with the current incarnation of the iUI not having the orange background at all and because it did not allow me to set the color where I needed it. In my project I needed a way to show that something was needed or required by using the color of the button, this grants me that power.
My example is a checklist program, that has a list of items needed on an ambulance, some things are required some things are just nice to have. The default state is off for all of the buttons, and if the item is required the off states color is orange, if the item is not required the color is white, when the item is checked, and found then you click the swtich and the button turns blue and to the on state. These are the things people will be doing with the tools we give them, should we not make sure that we give them the most flexible environment possible? I should say that I'm failing to live up to my last sentence in that previous paragraph. After all if I were living up to that the text would be in the HTML document (The ON / OFF part) and the images would be much smaller as they would stretch to contain the text. The problem is I can think of way to do this, but HTML and CSS is not quite to that level yet, so we have to deal with what I've given for now, unless someone can out smart me (please do, I'd love to see it!). I do however fell that I'm correct in the way I've named the class, and the button element I've used. I'd also like to join the iUI project as the graphic artist, and css designer. I have many years as both and would love to help out as I'm going to be using this project day to day. I see no reason why we should not be able to make the iPhone OS (Or at least all of the GUI elements) in HTML with CSS and JavaScript. I have programming experience but it's in PHP, and I only have a basic understanding of JS, but can for the most part get by. -- Thank you for your time, Lt.
