I've searched for info on this subject, but all I can find are posts about apps developed specifically as credit card terminals.
What I'm wondering about is, are there roadblocks to setting up credit card transactions within an app, such as to recharge a "virtual currency" you might use in the app? I'm spearheading an app for a website that uses virtual currency, purchasable with credit card, to allow users to order new products. They want to use that same currency on their app, but don't want the user to have to leave the app (and open up Safari) in order to recharge the currency. I had heard (rumors, rumors) that Apple frowned on such a thing, or that including them makes it hard to get the app through the review process, so we had decided to just skip it and have the user open up Safari to do the credit card transaction. But now I'm seeing Starbucks' card-recharge app, and wondering if I was misinformed. So, for credit card processing within an app itself ... anyone know if Apple frowns on it? Or takes a cut? Or where I can find any additional information?
