I'm not asking people to move away, just encouraging conversation about
improving iUI on the iui-developers group.

The iui-developers group is for discussing the ongoing development of
iUI itself.
iPhoneWebDev is for asking questions about using iUI and on
iPhone/WebKit web development in general.

I always try to steer conversations to the appropriate group. I realize
that there is some overlap between using iUI and contributing to it, so
I try not to be ideological about it.

Your question and the use of the word "lately" implies that there has
been some recent change in policy/purpose -- there hasn't been.
However, because of the forthcoming iUI 0.40 release I have probably
been asking people to join the iui-developers group more often. This is
for two reasons:

1) The iUI 0.40 release has an extensions mechanism and I'm actively
encouraging more involvement and greater participation/contribution.

2) The current iui-040-dev1 release is only intended for folks who are
comfortable contributing to iUI. It is not (in its current state)
intended for people who expect to be able to use it to build a site/app
without helping debug/modify/revise the code.

When someone asks a "how to use iUI" kind of question in iui-developers
I (usually) request that they ask it on this list.

I hope this clarifies the basic purposes of each of the groups, so
people will know "there's a group for that" ;)
