Is anyone using the XUI micro-framework (http://xuijs.com/)? Is it
worth considering, considering the extremely low ceiling on cached
content in Mobile Safari?
I haven't used it, but I've read the source code and it is definitely
worth considering.
It comes in at just under 8k, whereas jQuery
1.3.2 tips the scales at almost 56k. There's nothing at all wrong with
jQuery, of course. But if the cache limit is still 25k in iPhone OS
3.X (is it?) it would seem to make sense to try to come in under that
limit.
Cache limit, it's still nice for a site/app to come up quickly the first
time even when running on a slow cellular connection.
There's not a lot of mention of XUI in this group. Does that mean
everyone is sticking with iUI or jQuery/jQTouch?
There has been some talk of modifying iUI to use XUI as a base
framework. But nothing more than talk. It's something I'd be
interested in seeing if anyone wants to give it a try.
