Others have reported this problem and it appears that it is not an iUI
bug, but an iPhone bug. Issue #147 has been opened and there is some
interesting information in the comments:

In particular, see comment #6 that provides links to problems reported
by people using DashCode and jQTouch.
I haven't had time to look at it in detail, but if there is a (clean)
patch to iUI that will workaround the problem, I will gladly apply it.
