I've noticed you have to be very careful not to add any extra width to
your page. If you have any overflow outside of your 320px width or
margins/paddings/borders that may bump the width a pixel extra will
cause safari to not lock the horizontal scroll. I've felt your pain,
it can be a frustrating experience trying to find that extra pixel
somewhere that's allowing horizontal scroll.
