That's a very impressive article -- lots of great techniques for doing exactly what we'll need to do with the new iPhones, especially the grand finale (device-pixel-ratio based CSS media attribute). I'll have to play around with these techniques and see which have been implemented (lots of changes have probably happened since this 2006 proposal).

Downloading the SDK is a good idea. I also would look for an updated doc from Apple that makes recommendations. (Be wary of any agreement with Apple that you might have.)
