That test is ok everywhere except in Microsoft Internet Explorers, but IEs must die, so don't even attempt to "support" any of their -interminable-list-of- bugs.
I mean, even if you took care to write that test to workaround IEs' window-is-a-host-object-bug, there's going to be a zillion things more in your app that won't run properly in IE, sooo, you'd better just ignore it, imo. -- Jorge.
