YouTube has never *needed* Flash, the videos are just MPEG4 wrapped as a Flash object (hence why you can watch them using the iPhone YouTube app). My download manager uses the "Share" link to download the raw MPEG file. Once HTML5 becomes ubiquitous, YouTube can ditch Flash altogether. If MS and Apple had gotten their act together sooner, there would have been no market for Flash at all.
