Hello,

I'm trying to setup IPMI on a Intel 6300ESB-based server.

I'm able to run almost everything except Fan's speed,
but I must check the hardware.

The real problem is the LAN. I've setup the BMC as:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# /usr/share/ipmitool/bmclanconf -c 1 -i eth0
Auto-configuring eth0 (channel 1)
Setting LAN IP Address to 137.138.8.150
Setting LAN Subnet Mask to 255.255.0.0
Setting LAN MAC Address to 00:30:48:83:66:65
Setting LAN Default Gateway IP to 137.138.1.1
Setting LAN Default Gateway MAC to 0a:00:30:89:08:81
Enabling BMC-generated Gratuitous ARPs
BMC-generated Gratuitous ARP interval: 8.0 seconds
Setting channel authentication capabilities
Enabling channel 1

and setup a password like:

ipmitool -I open lan set 1 password <your password here>
Password set for user 1

But when I try to ping the BMC from another machine, I obtain:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] /afs/cern.ch/user/m/mascanc/private $ ipmitool -vvv -b 1 -I
lan -H 137.138.8.150 chassis power off
