The lead ipmitool developer is occupied these days, and several people
have discussed this the last few days on the ipmitool-devel mailing
list.  Are you subscribed.  If not, please subscribe using
<URL:https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ipmitool-devel>.

I'm one of the people involved in the work to make keep the
development going, mostly because I am the Debian maintainer of the
ipmitool package.

I guess you should also become a developer on the sourceforge project,
to have commit access for fixes.
