Tim,
Writing FRU data is usually done in discrete sections which have
variable length, so it should be done with care.
The ipmiutil package does have all the tools together in a meta-command
now ('ipmiutil'), see http://ipmiutil.sf.net/ for release 1.8.0 or
greater, and any other input is welcome.

I would like to use ipmitool to set the product asset tag. The current
version allows printing of this information but not setting it.
The ipmiutil package has fruconfig in it which allows this function but
I would prefer to have all the tools together (and ipmiutil does not

Any ideas ? The man page did not give any pointers.
