I think the "biggest" problem with the Supermicro cards is the "wimpy"
packet sizes they use (this is to be true of 1U-IPMIB and LP-IPMILANG). 
Using icmp, you can probe the 1U-IPMIB with increasing sized pings (LANG 
doesn't respond to ICMP echo requests) and see that the 1U-IPMIB stops 
responding to ICMP's >=275B (317B packets).  And, if you sniff, you'll 
find that it sends no packets larger than 186B (neither the 1U-IPMIB nor 
LP-IPMILANG, both run the same firmware).

Is this typical with all BMC's?
