Hi
The peigon point shelf manager returns 2 responses for one send message as
shown below.
Ipmitool ----> Send message (Embedded Get Device ID) ---->Peigon Point
Shelf Manager
<------ Responses with CC of 0x00 for send msg ------
<------ Response of the actual embedded Get Device ID ---
So what you are seeing is the response of the Send Message which is just
the completion code with 0x00 ...
On the peigont point that I am using via LAN interface I had the above
same behaviour so I had created the patch file for it where I check the
response completion code when we send the message and if its the response
has 0x34 and the netFn is 0x07 then wait for next response message which
will be the embedded response message .. I have the patch file which I
still need to submit ...
Let me know whether this is the same thing which you are observing so that
I can send you that patch file ...

Hi,
I have been trying to use the ipmitool release 1.8.9 with a pigeon point
ShMM-500 shelf manager.
The tools does not handle the resonse toa sen message command because the
response packet
is only 9 bytes long. It seems to want a longer response packet.
Has anyone else ran into this ?
