I'm also wandering, what is that? Looks like support for some blade
systems.  It was added by Jean-Michel Audet on May 17 2007. However I'm
not getting a reply from him for about 3 days. I'm also unable to find
an OpenIPMI implementation in the public.

Yes, it looks like it requires support from the driver, since it changed
structure used in driver ioctls.
