Hi:

- I am new to ipmitool, but I have a question on ipmitool.

- We are using ipmitool version 1.8.8 to remotely monitor a v20z x86 64bit sun
box

- our queries run fine and return data, but the queries require ADMIN
privileges. If we try to run queries with user IDs having USER or OPERATOR
privileges,
the queries fail

- So, does anyone know how to use ipmitool to remotely
monitor sun hardware using USER or OPERATOR privileges only?

- the commands we used to create users are:

ipmitool [options] set name 3 jhal
ipmitool [options] set password 3 jhal
ipmitool [options] channel setaccess 1 3 privilege=2 ipmi=on
ipmitool [options] user enable 3

Thanks
JH
