Right honourable members of the list, I succeeded after a while (we will define a while is like a loooong time) to get ipmi running on a tyan 3992-E with a smdc m3921. Everything works fine except some segfaults put you can control the box even through the serial console over lan. For those interested you must put your bios console redirect to com1, put the j3/j4 jumpers on the smdc board like 5-7 6-8 and don't connect the cable between com2 and the board. This works nicely on my first machine. The second one exactly the same machine, same hw,same OS, same configuration (thks raid1) except naturally some ip, hostnames etc... when I try to get control over the box with ipmitools on the second one a do get a > RAKP 2 HMAC is invalid

I changed it, reseted the smdc used the default. noway.... I can deliver the very verbose output of imitools if needed.
