Subject: [Ipmitool-devel] usage question on setting lan config...didn't
seeuser forum

ipmitool and changing lan settings...HELP!

Trying to update the values for Ipaddr, netmask, and gateway.

After wrestling & thinking I finally had the correct syntax I ran the
following,

ipmitool -I lanplus -H <old ip addr> -U root -f ../../.ssh/temmp exec
exe.lst3

the contents of exe.lst3:

lan set 1 ipaddr <new ip addr>

lan set 1 netmask 255.255.252.0

lan set 1 defgw ipaddr <new g-w>

received the following output:

Setting LAN IP Address to <new IP addr>

LAN Parameter Data does not match! Write may have failed.

Setting LAN Subnet Mask to 255.255.252.0

Set LAN Parameter failed

Set LAN Parameter failed

Set LAN Parameter failed

^C

Now, unable to get to that box's ilom at all, quite sad.

But I do have another 100 + of these guys to do, so I'd really like to
figure out if this is possible with pmitool.

Anyone out there do this in past? What did I do wrong? Order, syntax???

Thanks,

Joe
