You have IPMI LAN parameters set up fine apparently, but you will need to 
configure the SOL parameters on the controlled computer.

I don’t think you can do this with ipmitool on Windows, since it does not 
support any local Windows IPMI drivers for this.

 

However, ipmiutil supports the Intel Windows imbdrv.sys and the Microsoft 
ipmidrv.sys.

See http://ipmiutil.sf.net and the UserGuide section 4.8 describes how to set 
up SOL, since IPMI, BIOS and the OS all need to have parameters set up.   Note 
that Windows will only give you a SAC> prompt via Serial port or SOL.

Hello, i am using a intell Power Edge 2950(with windows server 2003 OS) as an 
controlled computer node, and i send the ipmitool cmd from a windows xp 
remotely.
 
 now , i can power on or off the controlled computer(intell Power Edge 2950) 
successfully,
but, i couldn,t set  up sol between the two ones. 
 
what should be done on the controlled computer, what is needed done on the 
controlling  computer, and how to test the connection with the simplest command?
 
 
Any one can help me  ?  Thanks in advance~~
