One key distinction about cipher suite 0 is that you don't have to get the password right for it to allow you to operate. Cipher suite 0 has no authentication whatsoever.
You may want to double check that the password is configured correctly,
since getting it wrong won't impact suite 0.

Hi all,
I have some trouble with the use of Cipher Suite IDs for
IPMI lanplus connection.
On some systems, specially Supermicro systems, I can't use
any Cipher ID except -C 0
Lan configuration of this server running IPMI 2.0 is:
....
RMCP+ Cipher Suites : 0,1,2,3,6,7,8,11,12
Cipher Suite Priv Max : uuuOXXuuOXXuOXX
What parameter(s) do I have to check and/or configure in
order to use the default (-C 3) Cipher Suite ID.
Can anybody help me ?
