Jim,

The IPMI 1.5 spec defines the RMCP protocol for IPMI LAN.

The IPMI 2.0 spec defines the RMCP+ protocol for IPM LAN 2.0 (alias
'lanplus').

There are no plans to rework the IPMI LAN protocol going forward.

However, there are some Management Controller firmware implementations
that do expose higher level protocols above IPMI, like: HTTP, SNMP
(gets/sets), WS-MAN, or SMASH (which may be over ssh).

Andy

Is there already a version of IPMI that uses TCP-based protocol or
are there any plans to develop a version that uses TCP-based protocol?
