Good Morning all,
I just subscribed to this list to see if anyone can help with the issue
that I'm having while compiling IPMItool 1.8.11 on Solaris 10 u7.
File used:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ipmitool/files/ipmitool/1.8.11/ipmitool-
1.8.11.tar.gz/download
The "./configure" command it's fine, no errors displayed.
"/usr/ccs/bin/make" reports the following error:
make: Fatal error in reader: Makefile, line 697: Extra `:', `::', or
`:=' on dependency line
I checked the Makefile file and the line 697 is the following one:
.PHONY: pkg
I'm having the issue with IPMITool 1.8.9:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ipmitool/files/ipmitool/1.8.9/ipmitool-1
.8.9.tar.gz/download
I'd like to try to use IPMItool version 1.8.9 or newer as a customer of
mine has some messages (see below) while running "ipmitool fru" on
Solaris 10 u7 or u8 on a DELL R610.
FRU Device Description : CPU1 (ID 176)
Device not present (Parameter out of range)
FRU Device Description : CPU2 (ID 176)
Device not present (Parameter out of range)
The version of IPMItool that is shipped with Solaris 10 is version
1.8.8.
I tried to use IPMItool version 1.8.9 in RedHat Enterprise Server 5
Update 2 and these messages are not reported.
I found the following bugzilla case:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=217676
I know that this is for RedHat and not for Solaris but I'd like to check
if the issue is really with the version of IPMItool 1.8.8 that comes
with Solaris 10.
Thanks
Diego
