There aren't any python examples except for the gui, which is rather large. The perl examples can be helpful, since the concepts are mostly the same, you can look in swig/perl for those. You just have to remove you brain and screw it in sideways to program in perl. I've converted the perl sample program to python and attached it, it will be in new distributions of OpenIPMI.
