Don,
ipmiutil fru allows you to change certain FRU data, like the asset tag, and
ipmiutil also has a separate ifruset utility to allow changing any field in the
FRU product area. That may do what you want. See ipmiutil.sf.net
It is generally considered a bad idea to modify the Board area supplied by the
manufacturer.

command. 2 of our vendors hint at a tool but I can't find one. BTW, in
